Varroa Extractor

Mechanical solution for monitoring and reducing Varroa destructor infestations!

Varroa Extractor

Designed for rapid and accurate infestation assessment, the Varroa Extractor mechanically removes mites from adult bees and provides beekeepers with useful information for selecting and evaluating their control strategy.

Benefits

Accurate Infestation Assessment

Allows a large number of bees from the same colony to be checked, providing a clearer picture of the Varroa destructor infestation level.

Immediate Results

At the end of the operating cycle, the separated mites are collected in the inspection drawer, where they can be easily observed and counted.

Treatment Effectiveness Assessment

The device can be used before and after treatment, helping beekeepers evaluate the results and adjust colony protection measures more effectively.

Mechanical Separation

The mites are removed from the bees through the controlled movement of the cylinder and the action of the fine powder used during the process.

No Chemical Residues in Bee Products

The process does not introduce active substances into honey, wax, or other hive products, making it suitable for beekeepers interested in natural control methods.

No Risk of Promoting Mite Resistance

Because the device works mechanically, its use does not contribute to the development of mite resistance to active substances.

Bees Returned to the Colony

After the cycle is complete, the bees are returned to the hive, where they continue their natural grooming process and remove any remaining traces of powder from their bodies.

Mobility in the Apiary

The equipment is fitted with wheels and a stabilizing leg, allowing it to be moved and positioned close to the colonies that need to be inspected.

How to Use

The bees are placed inside the cylinder together with a fine, eco-friendly powder. As the cylinder rotates, the mites are dislodged, pass through the grid, and are collected in the inspection drawer for counting. After the process is complete, the bees are returned to the hive. A full cycle takes approximately 4 minutes.
